Edie BerglundAsk Edie a QuestionEdie Berglund, OTR/L
Hi, My name is Edie and I am an OT with 28 years of experience working with special populations. I currently work at an educational service district. In that setting, I provide services to children from birth to the age of 21, in their homes and the educational setting. I have been there for the last 17 years. I also have a private practice where I provide service to adults with developmental and physical disabilities in group home settings. I have done that for the last 12 years.

I have also worked in various settings such as in and out patient rehab, home health and state hospitals for children with developmental and physical disabilities and mental illness. My areas of expertise are feeding, addressing educational and home environments, and sensory processing. I believe that working with families in a partnership is the most effective intervention. My name is Mary Candida Ficken and I go by "Candi." I completed my bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy in 1976 at the University of Kansas. Over the past thirty years I have worked in a variety of settings including a Rehabilitation Institute, home health agencies, a Rehabilitation Center, a Nursing Home, a School for the Deaf, and a School District. For the past 16 years I have worked with children through an Education Service District (ESD) which serves school districts in several counties. I love working in home and community settings with functional concerns that affect day-to-day living. Linda Poling Ask Linda a QuestionLinda Poling, OTR/L, LMT
Hello, My name is Linda Poling. I have been working as an occupational therapist since 1970 and as a licensed massage therapist since 2003. I have worked in a variety of settings and for the past 10 years with children and their families, birth to 21 years of age in the home and school setting. I am also a specialist in QiGong Sensory Training.

My own daughter, April, was born with down syndrome and at age two was diagnosed with severe autism. She is now 20 years old. It has at times been very difficult raising her but she continues to learn in the midst of multiple sensory issues. She is just now vocalizing word approximations. She stopped self abuse at the age of 12 and abuse to mom at the age of 15. She learned to use the toilet at age 16. She did feed herself at age 3 to 5. With a difficult transition to public school, the skill vanished. She is now very proud to sit with others at the table and, at the age of 19, feeds herself, pours her own juice and drinks from an open cup. She continues to grow and learn and so do I. (Massage therapist license #11555 --- Occupational therapist license #216077)
